Are Our Youth Connected to God?
Our Youth Are FAR From God-Is this a Concern?
Today's Youth seem to be unattached to church, youth groups, bible study, etc. Or does it depend on the area, city or location that one lives that determines the involvement of youth in these religious entities more than others?
Does location play a major role on if the child will be exposed more to God than others? Does culture play a role, poverty, social class, education level...etc?
There are many questions on why their is lack of involvement of our youth in church, religions and more.
Some New Age Young, Restless and Reformed Pastors are reaching youth at a place in which they are giving them answers to questions straight through the bible and our youth are taking note.
Biblical Scriptures that teach on Life concerns and is listed in Black and White and very little room for Gray, is what the new pastors stress. Its the Simple Church that is very simple! These Desiring God and Together 4 the Gospel pastors are pulling in a younger venue to make it easy and straightforward for anyone to understand. These leaders and pioneers of the Deliberate Church movement are: David Platt, Mark Dever, John Piper, and many others.
But it also depends on how involved that child is and the child's network of social support. If the parents are not as involved, the child will not be involved as much. However, sometimes our youth have other mentors or social support that introduce them to church life and they come to love it. It is through the actions of our youth that parents are given another chance of life through forgiveness.
Out of the mouths of babes is a well known adage and it is particular interesting for a reason. It gives life and hope to parents, and adults through the humbleness of a child.
Even Jesus himself stated in Matthew 18:2-4
2 He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. 3 And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
So, we really need our youth and its up to parents, grandparents, mentors and others to help them to know Him!
Start with some fun ways to get them into the bible such as Bible Challenges in your neighborhood or church.
